
Watershed Consulting Associates, founded in 2005, was formed by a team of hydrologists with specific skills in designing, permitting, and implementing stormwater management systems to restore and protect our surface water resources.
We typically offer stand alone services to a client, work closely with a select group of associate professionals on multi-faceted civil design projects, or provide subcontracting services to outside design firms. Mr. Andres Torizzo, President and Principal Hydrologist, is a registered Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ), Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Stormwater Inspector (CESSWI), Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC), and is recognized by the International Erosion Control Association as proficient in the field of Construction Site Stormwater Management. Mr. Torizzo has extensive experience with designing and permitting stormwater and erosion-sediment control projects in Vermont.
Ms. Margaret Torizzo, Senior Hydrologist, has wide-ranging experience in both stormwater system treatment design and erosion and sediment control design as well as in floodplain management, hydrologic, hydraulic, and pollutant load modeling studies. Ms. Torizzo has extensive knowledge of the State of Vermont Stormwater Management Program where she previously worked as an Environmental Analyst. She performed technical reviews of stormwater permit applications, provided technical stormwater treatment design assistance, and preformed jurisdictional determinations for State stormwater permits. Ms. Torizzo was also responsible for the development of the Multi Sector General Permit (MSGP) program for regulating stormwater runoff from industrial sites. Ms. Torizzo also previously worked for the State of Vermont River Management Program as the State Floodplain Coordinator where she was involved in the scientific review and analyses of policies, program activities involving floodplain management, fluvial hazard risk assessment, flood hazard mitigation, and riparian corridor protection projects.
